Keeping Up With FlySpaces

These last couple weeks have been, as the saying goes, a whirlwind for us. We secured another round of funding, celebrated our 2nd anniversary, and welcomed new members to our team! So we just wanted to take the time and reflect back on what has happened, and thank everyone - our investors, valued customers, space partners, friends, and family, for making it all possible.

The other week, we officially announced our Pre-Series A round of $2.1 million, making it the largest investment round led by Philippine based investors, and we couldn’t be more excited for what this means for the future of FlySpaces. Thanks again to Raymond Rufino and the rest of the investors for believing in our company, and making us a true Filipino success story.

We also got featured in some publications this month, just some casual names like Forbes, e27, Tech in Asia, and TechCrunch. Safe to say, we were all buzzing in the office and over Slack when we saw these major media outlets talking about FlySpaces.

This press also perfectly coincided with our 2nd year anniversary. To properly show our gratitude for getting us to this point, we invited as many of our friends as possible for a night of food and drinks at Manila House. Of course there are a lot of people we could not have with us, especially those of you outside of Manila, but we hope you know your support has not gone unnoticed.

This event gave us the opportunity to not only thank everyone in person, but to also get to know all of you better. It was the first time we all realized how much we had grown as a company, and Mario (our fearless leader) himself was in awe when he saw all of us on stage.

That same weekend we decided to take advantage of having the whole FlySpaces team together, and escape to Puerto Galera for the long weekend. Especially with our new team members, the trip let us put some faces to the names we talk to over email and Slack everyday. For the most part, it was a relaxed weekend getaway at the beach: jet skis, kayaks, great food, beachside drinks. But of course, we snuck in some team meetings to discuss our next steps as a company (check the above pic with our shirtless CEO taking ‘stage’).

So now that we’re all back in the office, reenergized with some much needed Vitamin D, be sure to look out for some new and exciting things from the FlySpaces team!
